It is my great pleasure, on behalf of the Honorary Consular Corps of Malta, to warmly welcome you to FICAC Malta 2027.

The proposed theme of this regional conference, The Human Dimension, places people, culture and trusted relationships at the centre of diplomacy in an age increasingly shaped by technology and artificial intelligence. Systems may accelerate communication, but judgement, empathy and personal responsibility remain distinctly human.

Malta provides a natural setting for this conversation. For centuries, these islands, strategically located in the central Mediterranean, have stood at the crossroads of Europe and North Africa, where trade, faith, diplomacy and culture have met. That history will serve not merely as scenery, but as the living backdrop to our discussions.

The Hilton Malta in vibrant St. Julians will host the welcome reception and the main conference sessions. In Valletta, St John’s Co-Cathedral - built by the Order of St John and renowned for its Baroque interior and Caravaggio masterpieces -will provide the cultural setting. The elegant Casino Maltese, overlooking Palace Square opposite the Grand Master’s Palace, will host the gala dinner within the capital’s historic heart.

The programme will explore trust and leadership in the age of AI, culture and creativity, the human economy, and honorary consuls’ role in building bridges. I invite every delegate to contribute openly and experience Malta’s welcome, heritage and enduring spirit of connection.

The conference is endorsed by the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade as well as by the Ministry for Tourism.
