Dr. Kevin F. Dingli Represents Malta at EFCAC Assembly in Rome

The Dean, Dr. Kevin F. Dingli, accompanied by his wife, represented the Honorary Consular Corps of Malta (“HCC”) at the Annual General Assembly of the European Federation of Consular Associations and Consuls (“EFCAC”) held at Rome between the 23rd and the 25th April 2026, in collaboration with the Federazione Nazionale dei Consoli Onorari in Italia (“FE.N.CO”) .

The event was well attended by a number of resident Ambassadors in Rome, as well as by a number of Honorary Consuls.

At a Gala Dinner held on the 23rd April, at the Circolo Ufficiale delle Forze Armati d’Italia, officially opening the event, outgoing EFCAC President Baron Jean-Jacques Haus presented the Dean with a Certificate of Membership in favour of the HCC.

The conference itself was held at the Circolo degli Affari Esteri on the next day 25th April 2026.

Mr. Nick van de Griendt, former Secretary General, was appointed as the new President of EFCAC, whilst Mr. Guy Meyer was appointed as the new Secretary General. By unanimous approval Baron Haus was appointed Honorary President.

A keynote speaker in the morning session was Senator Pier Ferdinando Casini, who delivered a poignant address on “The Crisis of International Law : what role for Diplomacy ?”.

Various other presentations were delivered, including those by the outgoing President Baron Haus, by the new President van de Griendt as well as by F.I.C.A.C. President Nikolaos Margaropoulos.

A cultural programme for attendees was put up on the next and last day 25th April 2026.
