Two MEDAC students get Honorary Consular Corps Award

The Honorary Consular Corps Award for 2020/2021 was awarded today to two MEDAC students that obtained the highest mark in the thesis component of the M.A. in Diplomatic Studies programme.

The award was presented by the Dean and Honorary Consul of Colombia Prof. Ing Joseph Buhagiar and Deputy Dean and Consul General for Switzerland Ms Annabelle Bonello.

The Director of MEDAC, Prof. Stephen Calleya, and academic staff of MEDAC were present during the event.


The Honorary Consular Corps Award is an annual prestigious occasion that recognizes the highest grade obtained in the postgraduate dissertation. This year, two students, Matthew Micallef St. John and Tyrone Teuma received the highest mark and shared the award.


The Honorary Consul Corps was established in 1995 and is composed of 65 Members – Honorary Consuls Generals, Honorary Consuls, and Honorary Vice-Consuls accredited to Malta and representing their respective countries.
